Both VN-Index and HaSTC-Index slide

The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) dropped again by the end of the August 15 morning trading session after rallying for gains the previous day.

By closing, the VN-Index fell 7.81 points or 0.85 percent to finish at 915.34 points. Nearly 3.7 million shares, worth more than 364 billion VND, were traded during the day.

Blue-chips like the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT), Saigon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank (STB) and Tay Ninh Rubber Joint Stock Company (TRC) enjoyed the largest trade volumes on the day.

Song Da Urban and Industrial Zone Investment and Development (SJS) suffered the biggest loss among the bourse’s 69 losers by having 9,000 VND wiped off its listed price. It was followed by FPT, Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (CII) and the Tuong An Oil Joint Stock Company (TAC).

Meanwhile, only 24 shares rallied for gains and 20 remained unchanged. Binh Minh Minerals (BMC), Tay Ninh Cable Tour Company (TCT), Saigon Hotel Corporation (SGH) and North Kinh Do Food Joint Stock Company (NKD) were among shares to record the biggest increases.

The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre dropped 0.19 points to finish at 254.05 points. Close to 763,000 shares, worth more than 77 billion VND, changed hands.

The session saw 39 shares decline, 24 make gains with 12 remaining the same.

Bao Viet Securities Company (BVS), Ba Hien Viglacera (BHV) and Song Da Joing Stock Company 9.09 (S99) were among the biggest losers of the day.

Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) led the market in terms of transaction volume with 200,400 shares, followed by Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company (NTP) and Ha Noi Milk (NHM).
