VN-Index on the up, HaSTC-Index falls again

The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) rallied to add on 14 points or 1.51 percent to close at 923.15 points by the end of the August 13 trading session after a sharp decline the day before.

Over 5.1 million shares worth nearly 495.4 billion VND changed hands.

The market saw 84 stocks gain, including blue-chips Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC), Tay Ninh Cable Car Tour (TCT), and North Kinh Do Food (NKD); 23 shares decline with the biggest losses coming to Binh Trieu Construction and Engineering, Ben Tre Aquaproduct (ABT) and Viet Nam Petroleum Transport (VIP).

The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre meanwhile continued its downward trend by dropping 0.24 points to finish at 254.24 points.
PetroVietnam Insurance (PVI), Song Da 505 (S55) and Ha Noi Textbook Printing (TPH) were amongst the biggest losses of a group of 34 companies that had value erased from their listed price.

The trading session saw an increase in trade volume but fall in value with 915,000 stocks worth 80.178 billion VND changing hands.
