Vietnam Airlines transports nearly 7mio passengers

Vietnam Airlines has transported over 6.8 million passengers in 2006, nearly 1 million more than the previous year, and 106,600 tonnes of cargo.
The airlines recorded a seat occupancy rate of 71.9%.

Last year, Vietnam Airlines signed a contract with American Airlines to conduct flights to the US and opened a direct route between Ha Noi and Luong Prabang in Laos. It plans to open a non-stop route to the US by the end of 2007.
