Agribank to ink deals worth 1.55 billion USD

The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam (Agribank) is set to sign deals worth close to 1.55 billion USD with foreign financial and banking firms.

The agreements are set to be inked with the US's Wachovia bank, the UK's Standard Chartered and Austria's RZB.

Additionally, Agribank is also scheduled to sign a Master Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft which will allow it to use Microsoft Office software and a MoU on human resources development and training with the US's Hawaii University.

Acting Agribank Director General Nguyen The Binh has said the documents will be signed in the US while he accompanies State President Nguyen Minh Triet on his visit that runs from June 18-23.

Agribank leaders said the deals would help the bank in enhancing its operating capacity as it works down its roadmap of equitisation and international integration.
