VN-Index drops, HaSTC up slightly

Ho Chi Minh City’s bourse reported a slight decrease by the end of the June 18 trading session after recording a minimal rise in last week’s final session.

The VN-Index at the HCM City Securities Trading Centre dropped by 4.2 points or 0.4% to close at 1,043.99 with 10.5 million shares worth over 1.19 trillion VND (roughly 74.6 million USD) being traded.

Binh Dinh Mining Company (BMC) and Tay Ninh Cable Car Tour (TCT) made a spectacular recovery to top the list of big gaining stocks that also included Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Company (DHG), Saigon Hotel (SGH) and Imexpharm Pharmaceutical (IMP).

A total of 36 stocks enjoyed gains, 25 shares remained the same and 48 others fell during the course of the session.

At the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC), blue-chippers such as Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), Bao Viet Securities (BVS), and Saigon Securities (SSI) all increased to push up the HaSTC to 315.2 points, up 1.73 points over the last session.

The newly listed Cho Lon Real Estate (CRL) continued to rise sharply by tacking on 14,700 VND to its listed price.

On the day, more than 1 million stocks worth 113.4 billion VND (approximately 7 million USD) changed hands at the Ha Noi bourse.
