Reuters on June 12 launched two services that provide real-time information for investors, eyeing to cash in on Viet Nam’s booming brokerage houses.
With a 3,000 Xtra screen, investors can even view live prices from both of Viet Nam’s stock exchanges offshore and place orders directly to their local broker for execution in the country, said Eddie Haddad, managing director of Reuters ASEAN.
Local brokers will need to hook up to the 3,000 Xtra service in order to transact orders from investors offshore, at a cost of 1,420 USD for monthly subscription.
On the same day, the international news agency also launched Bisnews Equitities Terminal, which allows local brokerage houses to display information and analysis to service their retail investors. This is an information terminal, which does not allow viewers to place orders online.
Hadded said that 3,000 Xtra is targeted at professional investors, commercial banks, fund managers and securities companies, while the Bisnews Equitities is aimed at retail investors. Both services are available in English only.
There are more than 60 securities companies in Viet Nam, and the figure is expected to rise to 200 companies in the next one or two years, Haddad said.
