Both Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Ha Noi-based counterpart experienced rises by the end of the July 10 trading session.
The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Securities Trading Centre increased 12.77 points to finish at 1,023.04 points. More than 4.9 million shares, worth more than 530 billion VND, changed hands, with 81 shares rallying for gains.
The group of blue-chippers, including Saigon Commercial Bank (STB), PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Service Company (PVD), Song Da Urban and Industrial Zone Investment and Development (SJS) and Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) continued to be the most traded stocks.
Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Company (DHG) experienced the highest price hike, followed by Binh Dinh Mining (BMC), Sea and Air Freight International (SFI), REE and Saigon Hotel (SGH).
The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre rose 11.3 points to 282.04 points, with 1.77 million shares, valued at 188.3 billion VND, being traded.
Saigon Securities (SSI) shares became the most sought-after stock during the session following ANZ bank’s announcement that it had acquired a 10 percent stake in the Vietnamese company.
SSI topped the market in terms of transaction volume, with 520,200 shares being traded, accounting for nearly 30 percent of the total traded volume during the session.
The company was followed by Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), with 185,700 shares, and Bim Son Cement Joint Stock Company (BCC), with 228,800 shares changing hands.
