National carrier Vietnam Airlines safely delivered more than 3.83 million passengers in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16.5 percent.
The figure includes 2.22 million domestic passengers, a rise of 23.9 percent over the same period last year, and 1.6 million international passengers, a year-on-year increase of 6.9 percent.
The airlines also carried over 53,385 tonnes of cargo, fulfilling 44.7 percent of its set targets and operated 31,140 safe flights.
During the six-month period, Vietnam Airlines posted estimated revenues of 9.38 trillion VND (586.3 million USD). Its contribution to the State budget was close to 120 billion VND (7.5 million USD).
