The HaSTC index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre reported a slight increase by the end of the July 13 trading session by tacking on 3.7 points to finish at 277.37 points.
However, trading volume remained relatively small as only 686,000 shares worth 71.8 billion VND changed hands on the day.
Hoa Phat Construction Stone (HSC) topped the list of 29 shares that recorded gains by adding 14,000 VND onto its listed price. Saigon Securities (SSI), Asia Bank (ACB), Ha Noi Milk (HNM) and Minh Phu Seafood (MPC) led the market in terms of transaction volume.
At the country's largest bourse in Ho Chi Minh City , investors witnessed the continued recent decline of the market as the VN Index slipped by 1.95 points to finish at 1,015.73 points for the day.
Hau Giang Pharmaceutical (DHG) was one of the exchanges biggest disappointments by dropping 17,000 VND per unit but was closely followed by Financial Promotion and Technology (FPT) Vinamilk (VNM) and Hang Xanh Motor Services (HAX).
North Kinh Do Food (NKD), Tuong An Vegetable Oil (TAC), Hoa Binh Rubber (HRC) and Saigon Fuel (SFC) all rallied to head the list of companies that added value to their stocks.
