Vietnam indices slide

The Viet Nam's stock indexes dropped value by the end of the July 12 morning trading session after making gains over the last two days.

The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh Securities Trading Centre fell 12.17 points to finish at 1017.68 points. By closing, nearly 4.5 million shares, worth more than 409 billion VND, changed hands.

The session witnessed only 15 shares record gains while 13 remained the same and 81 fell. Binh Dinh Mining (BMC) was the biggest loser of the day, dropping 14,000 VND per unit, closely followed by Hau Giang Pharmaceutical (DHG) and Tay Ninh Cable Tour Company (TCT).

Meanwhile, Kind Do Corporation (KDC), ALTA Company (ALT) and Lugia Mechanical Electric Joint Stock Company (LGC) were among the top five gainers of the day. KDC added 6,000 VND to finish at 244,000 VND, followed by ALT with 5,000 VND to finish at 107,000 VND and LGC with 4,000 VND to close at 110,000 VND.

At the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre, the HaSTC-Index dropped 8.79 points to finish at 273.67 points.

The bourse saw very light trading with only 816,200 shares, worth close to 80 billion VND being bought and sold.

The day saw 17 shares rally for gains, 14 remain unchanged and 54 decline.
