Job market heating up due to lack of workers

The demand for staff increased strongly in the first quarter of the year, while the number of people seeking work grew less markedly.

A statistical survey of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper's employment and recruitment website found that the number of jobs advertised increased by 28 percent while the number of job seekers grew by only 14 percent.

The website said demand and supply indexes were higher compared to the same period last year and forecast that demand for jobs will increase 88 percent in 2007, while job supply will rise by about 62 percent overall.

Areas with high demand for job recruitment include management, sales, marketing, accountancy, IT services, banking, stock investment. These websites also found increased number of job hunters focusing on administration, secretarial, accountancy and finance.
