VN-Index continues steady rise

The Viet Nam-Index rose 18.85 points to finish at 1085.41 by the end of the May 21 morning trading session.

Almost 10.4 million shares worth over 1 trillion VND (62.5 million USD) were traded at the Ho Chi Minh City Securities Trading Centre on the day.

Binh Dinh Mining Company (BMC) and Son Da Urban and Industrial Zone Investment and Development (SJS) were among five blue-chip shares that continued to record big gains, they were followed by plastics firm BMP, Kinh Do Corporation (KDC) and NAV.

The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre was also up slightly, closing at 340.37 points, an increase of 2.5 points from the previous session.

By closing, nearly 1.76 million shares worth 218.7 billion VND (13.6 million USD) were traded at the Ha Noi bourse, with 58 stocks rallying for gains, 1 showing no change, 21 falling and six recording no transactions at all.

Saigon Securities Incorporated (SSI) continues leading the market in terms of its transaction volume with 341,600 shares changing hands. It was followed by Minh Phu Seafood (MPC), 120,600; and Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) 81,000.
