PetroVietnam and Vietnam Airlines sign new deal

The Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and the Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) came to terms on a strategic investment cooperation agreement, on May 18.

Under the deal, the two companies will jointly invest in projects in the fields of transport infrastructure, banking, terminals, airports, trade centres, buildings and entertainment complexes.

PetroVietnam and Vietnam Airlines would also look into purchasing shares or contributing capital to become shareholders of their respective subsidiary companies.

The first order of business for the two State owned firms is to ask government departments for permission to coordinate with the Ministry of Defence to establish a personal taxi aviation service company.

The two sides also plan to look at producing and selling Jet A1 gasoline that is used for planes in the aviation industry.
