Foreign direct investment (FDI) to Flow Into Vietnam in Coming Years

Delegates at the ongoing APEC Investment Forum 2006 agreed that Vietnam has already attracted many foreign investors and the foreign direct investment influx will continue for many years as the country became an official member of the World Trade Organisation.Hannes Romauch, Deputy General Director of T&M Investment (Vietnam), told a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Hanoi on Nov. 15 on the sidelines of the meeting that Vietnam is an excellent country for foreign investment "The Vietnamese economy is growing very strongly, but more importantly, it's very stable," he said.
Hafiz Mirza, an official of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), said that after Vietnam became a full member the WTO, FDI would remain quite high for a number of years. "A lot of companies are interested in investing more in Vietnam," the official said.
